Sektor 02 — Projektet

Engineering thefuture of autonomousmobility.

APEX Autonomous is a student-run team at Linnaeus University competing in Formula Student Driverless. We design, build and race a car that has no driver in it.

Everything on the car is built by students — the chassis, the sensor rig, the embedded electronics, and the full autonomy stack from perception through to control.

Sektor 03 — Bilen

The autonomousformula project.

One vehicle, rebuilt every season. Each subsystem is owned by a division, and every division has to make its work fit inside the same car.

Sektor 04 — Autonomin

Perception, planningand control, built asone system.

The four stages below run on the car every cycle, at speed, with no human in the loop. A failure in any one of them stops the car — so they are designed, tested and tuned together rather than separately.

01Uppfattning

Stereo camera and LiDAR

Konerna hittas och sorteras efter färg — blå till vänster, gul till höger, orange vid start och mål.

02Positionering

Graph SLAM

Bilen beräknar var den själv befinner sig medan den bygger kartan, och sluter cirkeln när den känner igen startporten.

03Planning

Delaunay triangulation

Körbar korridor räknas fram ur konparen, och en körlinje läggs genom den inom gränserna för grepp och kurvradie.

04Styrning

Model predictive control

Styrning och vridmoment räknas fram över en rullande horisont, och räknas om varje cykel mot bilens aktuella läge.

Validation

Nothing reaches thetrack untested.

Every change runs in simulation first. What goes on the car has already driven thousands of laps that never happened.

Sektor 06 — Hårdvaran

Built by hand,measured by machine.

Boards are designed, populated and brought up in-house. Suspension geometry is machined to drawing and then checked against it.

Sektor 07 — Laget

Build somethingreal.

You do not need to know everything before joining. You need to want to learn it, and to keep showing up on the evenings when the car does not work.

Sektor 08 — Tävlingen

Four events.No driver in anyof them.

Formula Student Driverless scores the car across four dynamic disciplines. Autocross is the hard one: the car has never seen the layout, and it gets exactly one lap.

01Acceleration

75 m from a standing start

02Skidpad

Åtta, två tidtagna varv

Jämn kurvtagning. Reglersystemet måste hålla samma radie när vikten förflyttas.

03Autocross

One lap, track unseen

Bilen har aldrig kört den här banan. Allt kommer från vad den ser, i realtid.

04Trackdrive

Ten laps, mapped on lap one

Första varvet bygger kartan. Varv två till tio körs mot den, snabbare för varje gång.

The season,documented.

Apex Media films the build, shoots the car and produces everything our partners see. The archive is the record of how the car got made.
